Northumberland is an area of outstanding natural beauty and there are numerous attractions
to delight and enchant you throughout your stay.
Castles, museums and historic monuments – at Bamburgh, Holy Island/Lindisfarne,
Dunstanburgh, Warkworth, Alnwick, Berwick and Chillingham, plus Woodhorn
Museum, Hadrian’s Wall, and much more!
The great outdoors! Miles of sandy beaches, plus the Northumberland National Park and
Kielder Water & Forest Park. Plus Gardens –
at Alnwick, Howick and the Cragside
Estate to name but a few.
Wildlife a plenty! A plethera of birds including Puffins and Roseate Terns and many
more, plus seals and other wildlife. You can take a boat trip from Amble or other
locations up the coast (including around the
Northumberland Coastal Path, St. Oswald’s Way, St. Cuthbert’s Way and the Hadrian’s
Wall Path. There are also a number
fabulous coastal golf courses in the near vicinity,
water sports (swimming, canoeing, kayaking), fishing and horse riding.
Shopping at Amble Harbour Village, Farmer’s Markets, Farm Shops and more. Plus,
if you are missing the big city, you can catch a train to Newcastle or Edinburgh from
Numerous food outlets where you can sample local wares including Craster Kippers,
Lindisfarne Oysters, local cheeses and fabulous Italian ice-cream!
